• • • ADHD
There is a lot of confusion about ADHD and the medications used to treat it. The fact is, it is a condition that affects millions of children. We currently have more treatment options than ever before. At The Pediatric Center of Southwest Louisiana, we use standardized evaluation methods to diagnose ADHD and the other conditions that often go along with ADHD. We also follow our patients closely to monitor effectiveness of treatment and to watch out for adverse effects. • • • Allergies
Seasonal or perennial allergies can be miserable for some people. Fortunately, there are several very effective medications available. For those people in whom the medications just don't provide enough relief or cause significant adverse effects, we provide allergy testing and allergy shots.
• • • Asthma
Asthma is a very serious disease that can even be life threatening at times. The key to treatment is very tight control of the inflammatory processes that can cause long-term lung damage. We provide very close monitoring of asthma symptoms and pulmonary function testing.

Our in-house lab allows us to perform common basic test quickly and efficiently. | |
• • • KidMed
KidMed is the well-child system for all patients on Medicaid. Through a set schedule of evaluations, each child's growth and developed are monitored closely in order to catch any problems early. We have a very active KidMed program through which we've been able to achieve very high immunization rates for our Medicaid® patients.
• • • Minor Surgery
A well stocked procedure room offers many advantages. Some of the procedures it allows us to do in the office include circumcisions, IV hydration, ingrown toenail removal, cryotherapy for warts, spinal taps, fracture management, and abscess drainage. |
• • • Well Child Visits & Immunizations
Everybody knows you are supposed to bring infants in for their immunizations. But most people don't realize there are many necessary well-child visits even after immunizations are complete. Children should be screened periodically for growth and development delays, speech and hearing problems and a multitude of other issues. Check out the CDC website to learn more about recommended immunizations.
• • • X-Ray
We have in-house x-ray and some dedicated radiation technologists. This allows quick diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia and broken bones, among other things. It also helps find the occasional swallowed coins. | |

Of course, just like all pediatricians, we take care of a multitude of other problems. There are always the runny noses and ear infections, along with eczema, sore throats, headaches, stomachaches, bedwetting, acne, ringworm, constipation, diarrhea, colic, and rashes, rashes, and more rashes. |
